We ended up spending the day in Long Beach at Mother's Beach. It's the sweetest little beach && is perfect for young children. Its in a channel so there aren't any waves && the bouyed off section for swimming isn't too deep. The best part is the distance between parking && the water's edge, it's close!! Over at Huntington Beach && in Newport too, you literally have to hike to the water. if you forget something in the car... forget it. Here you may only walk a minute plus theres a rather large shaded grass section, just right for picnics. Needless to say this is my new go to beach.
This beach day was Rylie's first real beach day! She has been twice before once when she was about 4 months old the other time was a few days after christmas when she was 8 months old. Both times she was just too little to really enjoy let alone like the beach. This trip, she loved it! Ry played in the sand, digging && building, && in the water, kicking && laughing! Swim lessons definitely helped with her comfortability in the water && she learned helpful pre-swimming skills.
We had such a wonderful day :) |
